Why Visit

Why You'll Love Tokyo

Tokyo is unlike anywhere else on earth. It's a city that somehow makes ancient and ultramodern feel completely natural side by side — a 1,000-year-old shrine tucked behind a gleaming skyscraper, a quiet tea ceremony a five-minute walk from the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world.

🌸 Shinjuku Gyoen

One of Tokyo's finest parks and the city's most celebrated cherry blossom spot. In April it becomes something genuinely breathtaking.

⛩️ Senso-ji Temple

Tokyo's oldest temple in the heart of Asakusa. Arrive early before the crowds and the atmosphere is completely transportive.

🗼 Shibuya & Beyond

The iconic crossing, the neon, the energy — Shibuya at night is one of those experiences that stays with you long after you leave.

Choose Your Tokyo

Tokyo works for every kind of traveller. The city is endlessly layered — you can visit three times and barely scratch the surface.

The Culture Seeker

Old Tokyo

Asakusa, Yanaka and the Imperial Palace gardens — the quieter, older side of the city that most visitors rush past.

The Food Lover

Tokyo on a Plate

More Michelin stars than any city on earth. From a standing ramen bar at midnight to an omakase counter with a three-month waiting list.

The Explorer

Beyond the City

Day trips to Nikko, Kamakura and Mount Fuji — Tokyo is the perfect base for exploring the wider Kanto region.

Timing

The Best Time to Visit Tokyo

Tokyo has four very distinct seasons and each one offers something completely different. Here's how to pick the right time for you.

Season When What to Expect
Cherry Blossom Late March – April The most iconic time to visit. Parks turn pink and the whole city slows down to appreciate it. Book well in advance.
Summer June – August Hot, humid and festival season. Lively but demanding — best suited to those who don't mind the heat.
Autumn October – November Arguably the best kept secret. Cooler temperatures, golden foliage and far fewer crowds than spring.
Winter December – February Cold but crisp. Christmas illuminations are spectacular and it's the easiest time to get a table anywhere.

"Tokyo doesn't just show you Japan — it shows you a version of the future that somehow feels completely human."
